Bruschetta Recipe: Classic Tomato Basil Bruschetta with Parmesan and Olive Oil

Served over crispy toasted French bread, this easy Italian appetizer is ideal for summer gatherings, dinner parties, holiday entertaining, or a simple weeknight snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 6 to 8 roma tomatoes
  • Fresh basil or 2 TBSP dried basil
  • 2 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. Garlic salt
  • 1 triangle parmesan cheese
  • ¾ cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Slice french bread into thin slices and line them on a baking pan
  • Broil till dry and crunchy keeping a close eye to not let it burn
  • Chop the tomatoes
  • Chop fresh basil if using fresh
  • Grate the cheese
  • Mix the tomatoes, basil, minced garlic, garlic salt and grated cheese together in a bowl
  • Drizzle olive oil in and mix well
  • Serve over crunchy french bread slices

Notes

Tip: I buy a very skinny loaf of french bread for this as it makes the perfect sliced size for this appetizer and you can use parmesan cheese already grated if in a pinch on time!
