Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • Lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish or cast iron skillet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.
  • Stir until just combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine.
