Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • cup cold butter grated
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Grate the cold butter into the flour mixture.
  • Using a fork, gently mix until the butter resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized pieces throughout.
  • Gradually stir in the milk, adding just enough until the dough comes together. The dough should still be slightly sticky and look a little dry.
  • Using a medium cookie scoop, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey.
